about

The Dispute is the first single from the first full-length studio album by Canadian progressive rock/metal band Cartheus, now known as North American Counterpart. It was recorded and mixed at random points in time between December 2014 and September 2015 in Hampton, Ontario, Canada. With the Beyond the Visible demo (and subsequent remastering) set as a stylistically fitting starting point, we were determined to claim a sound that was truly our own. With the massive help of Cody Bowles (Crown Lands and HeavyEarth) on vocals (and a far more defined sound of our own), we feel far more confident that we've gone and achieved just that! But you be the judge! Stay tuned for the impending release of The Ennead…

lyrics

Miles apart from closest tide
Widened berth to wander
Only to be broken down
By the embrace of another
Scorn and patiently rebuke
Views you held true victim to
Your dispute
Go to your dispute
Yourself against
Yourself against you

Piecing things back together
Walking in plain sight
Placing pieces
Forward apart from
The rest

Pacing has never moved one so far
Pacing has never moved one
Pacing, pacing yourself
Pacing, pacing yourself

Walking in countless straight lines
From your dispute
